Stanton is located in northern Orange County, California, within the Los Angeles metropolitan area. According to the 2020 United States Census, the city had a population of 37,962. The city was incorporated in 1956 and operates under a council-manager form of government, providing a full range of municipal services. The city of Stanton is surrounded by Cypress to the west, Anaheim to the north, and Garden Grove to the east and south.
